Wow,
as I look back on my rookie season I am filled with
so much knowledge that one can only obtain through
trial and error. I have learned first hand what being
a rookie truly means; many tournaments in a row (sometimes
too many), lots of traveling, spending many nights
in hotels in random cities not knowing where anything
is located, and playing different golf courses week
in and week out and having to quickly adjust to the
playing conditions on unknown courses.
As the holiday season approaches, I have been
thinking of all those who have helped me during
this year. First off my family's support on and
off the road has meant more to me this first year.
I have gotten frustrated, but they always seem
to make me smile, I guess it's the Ben and Jerry's
ice cream that brings out the grin. They have also
been present during my many successful endeavors
this year on tour. Especially having my mom see
my first professional hole-in-one was incredible,
the joy and excitement on her face lit up the sky.
Even my extended traveling families have been a
blast to get to know. Staying in one's home brings
a sense of familiarity to an abnormal situation
and I am quite thankful and look forward to seeing
them next year, if they will have me.
Also my caddie, what an important attribute he
was to have on the bag as he helped me in tough
situations and in joyous accomplishments. He has
truly come to know my game and helps me much more
than he knows. I can't wait to get out there next
year and work even harder with him.
I am thankful for all those that have given me
sound advice throughout the year, especially the
girls out on tour. They really helped me make some
good decisions on and off the course. Even as stubborn
as I am, I forgot to listen to them when they told
me to take some time off, I am already back hitting
balls and trying to get ready for next season.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been visiting
with my friends and family. It has been great catching
up with everyone and spending quality time, especially
shopping for Christmas gifts, oh how I love the
holidays.
I don't know what I am going to do next year seeing
as how I can't be part of the rookie diary any
more, but I am going to try and keep everyone updated
through my website, www.angelajerman.com. Hopefully,
now that I will not have any rookie responsibilities,
I should have plenty of time to keep you updated
on a regular basis. I have enjoyed giving you an
insight into my rookie year and there are infinite
little details that I know I will cherish forever.
Thanks for being part of my journey! I hope to
see you all out on the road next year.
As the holiday season is upon us, I wish everyone
safe journeys and many smiles!!!
