Welcome to 2006! Okay, so I have been really bad about not filling everyone in on my recent activities and for that I am extremely sorry (J.C. it won't happen again)....
Well, life has been quite busy for me over the last couple of months, let me rewind. Obviously my golf season last year was not quite what I wanted, but I accomplished a lot over the last six months. I have completed a swing change which will enable me to stay on plane and hopefully eliminate all those dreaded hooks that many of you have witnessed. For those that are swing guru's, I now have a swing that will hold up under pressure and throughout the long season. Hopefully you will be able to see the changes when compared to the past few seasons. If you have any detailed questions of drills and such please email me and I will explain in detail what my instructor, John Godwin, and I have decided works best with my swing. As for the rest of my game, I am very pleased with my bunker game, obviously for those that kept up with my stats. My short game tool box is constantly growing. I try to learn new shots all the time to put in my arsenal, but of course the main shots I continue to work on are those that are the most common, bump in runs and pitch shots. I have dedicated myself to re learn how to hit the 6 and 7 iron chip shots like a putt, still difficult, but I am staying committed. The most important part of my or anyone's game is putting and although I feel very confident with short putts, 6 feet and in, I believe that I need to make more putts in the range of 12 to 6 feet. I have noticed that the top players in the world are very confident with this range of putts, thus that is what I am working on. The combo of reading putts and having the correct speed is chemistry all to itself. So, as the new season approaches, I enter with new found enthusiasm and optimism.
As for my status for the this year I would like to explain... I have conditional status, which means that I need full exempt players not to play in order to get the ability to play in that particular event. The other option that I will be pursuing throughout the year are sponsor exemptions. At every tournament site the sponsor has the right to give out 2 exemptions to whomever they would like and hopefully a few choose me and if that occurs, then I will let you all know. The final way to get into tournaments are Monday qualifiers which I will attempt. These require very solid rounds of golf, but I am up for the challenge and hopefully they will help me become more confident in shooting low scores. So, there is my schedule for the year. Exactly, I have no idea which tournaments I will play, but I will be ready for any and all that I get the opportunity to play.
Overall, I look forward to 2006 and look back at last year as a huge learning year. One of sweat, tears, and hard work which I look forward to putting to the test. So, to all that have continued to support me and back me over the years, I am sooo grateful, Thank you! I invite anyone to email me at anytime and I will try and get back to you as quickly as possible. Your constant words of encouragement are always appreciated and never ignored. Thanks so much. Please check back to site as I will put short blogs up randomly to keep all informed of what's going on.
Well, now back to golf as I am in Daytona visiting with fellow tour member Tracy working on our games and trying to one up each other in any competition. Keep smiling and keep hitting them straight. Angela |
