Happy Valentines Day! I am very happy to release the new version of my website that my designers, Alan and Jeff, have been working quite hard on. I would be very interested in your thoughts and comments on what you like and don’t like as it continually is a work in progress. Just wanted to give you a quick update on what I have been up to over the last couple of months. My time has been full of practice, spending time with my family and of course traveling for different events.
I kicked off the first of the year in Tampa, FL watching my Georgia Bulldogs, in the Outback bowl, beat up on some Wisconsin Badgers. It was my first time to a NCAA Bowl game and we tried to be involved with the whole experience, from the pep rally to the parade. My mom, dad, and Bulldog Brian joined me for the game and we barked as loud as we could. It was sad to see our quarterback David Greene and Defensive end David Pollack play their last game as Bulldogs, but they played excellent and went out in style. The game was the perfect way to start off 2005!
For part of January, I spent time in Florida in order to practice in warmer weather, as many of you know the winter has been quite cold for much of the nation. I also took part in some pro-am’s to help out different foundations and charities. In addition, I have finalized some new sponsorships with various companies. You may notice throughout the year that I will be wearing Lizgolf clothing, which I am very excited about. We were able to do a professional photo shoot and I had a blast, as it was a first for me. Furthermore, I have become a spokesperson for US Kids Golf. They are focusing on getting more girls involved with golf at a younger age. Kids golf is something I am always proud to be involved with.
For some exciting news, my swing instructor was named the PGA of America National Junior Golf Leader of the Year for his commitment and dedication to the development of junior golf. I am very proud of John Godwin, as he has continually helped shape my career.
My most recent endeavor is my relationship with SOWF, Special Operation Warrior Foundation, introduced to me by fellow tour player Catherine Cartwright. She started last year with Birdies for the Brave and I am now also getting involved. This organization helps aid in the educational endeavors of the children of fallen special ops soldiers. If you would like to know more about SOWF please click on their logo located on my main page of the website. I urge anyone interested about possible contributions to please contact me as it is a wonderful cause and the best way possible to give to those soldiers who put their lives on the line for our security and safety here in the states.
Overall, I am very excited to start the new season. I will start out in Hawaii and then head to Mexico and Phoenix for my first couple tournaments. This will be my first trip to Hawaii and I am thrilled to have my mother and sister, Amanda, join me for what will be an incredible trip and start to my season.
I hope that you all are doing great and will check back throughout the year to view many new stories and pictures that I will post. Thanks so much for supporting me throughout my career and if you ever have a question please send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful day and remember to Keep Smiling! Angela |
