Wow, what a sight to see! My mom, dad, and I arrived in
Las Vegas on Monday with wide eyes at all of the sights
to see. During my week off, we decided to experience
Vegas and oh did we. On Monday we walked through a
variety of Hotels and could not believe all of the intricate
details. The Bellagio's botanical garden exhibit
was unbelievable. The fresh flowers and live butterflies
were a beautiful sight to see. Caesars Palace had
live statues and a painted ceiling that made you
think you were outside under a beautiful blue sky.
All of these hotels were a great sight to see.
That night we realized that my
Uncle Steve was in town for a conference. It
was really great to spend some time with family,
especially being this far from home. Monday night,
my mom wanted to take me to a Las Vegas show
and so we attended Jubilee at Bally's. The costumes
were gorgeous along with the meticulous set designs.
The Titanic scene was fantastic. The remainder
of the night my parents and I decided to check
out the tables and found that breaking even is
basically winning here in Vegas.
The next day we found all of the
free shows on the strip; from the water-dancing
extravaganza outside of the Bellagio, to the
Pyrotechnic Sea Battle at Treasure Island. These
are shows that everyone should catch while on
the strip; they are just amazing. That night
we attended a comedy show at Harrah's Las Vegas
where the laughs never stopped rolling.
It's hard
to visit Vegas and not dine at an assortment
of unique restaurants.
The rainforest café was a wild place to
shop and eat. The animated elephants and gorillas
always kept the conversation lively. Thanks to
Amanda and Bob for recommending such a fun and
crazy place to dine.
Unfortunately my mom had to fly
back home to help baby-sit my nieces as my sister
had to return to work, but it was wonderful to
experience this fun city with her and my dad.
Thanks for making the week so memorable.
Because it was the week of the
Masters, my dad and I had to find a fun place
to watch all of the impressive play; which we
found at the ESPN Zone at New-York New-York.
The screen was life size, so it made all of the
incredible shots much more amazing. It's great
to see players grind so hard and play so well.
If only both Mike Weir and Len Mattiace could
have walked away with green jackets, they both
played so spectacular.
To finish off a wonderful week,
my dad surprised me with tickets to a Championship
boxing fight, featuring Marco Antonio Barrera
vs. Kevin Kelley at MGM Grand. I watch a lot
of fights on TV with my mom and dad, so it was
a treat to see a fight live. It is amazing how
hard they hit, but what an event to attend. Meeting
Johnny Tapia, a former champion, after the fight
topped off the night. When he entered the arena,
the fans went crazy. He is definitely a crowd
pleaser. Although Barrera won in the 4th round,
it was a fight that I will always remember, especially
having my dad with me cheering and ranting like
crazy.
I guess you can tell that I experience
a lot during my week off. Don't worry I did get
to the course a couple of times. Anthom Country
Club was gracious enough to allow me to practice
on such a beautiful course. The Callaway Golf
center was a great little short course that was
excellent practice. What a week!!
